Warwickshire’s women’s tennis side continued their winning ways on Day 2 of   their County Week campaign in Group 4 at Cheltenham, beating North Wales 7-2.The second pair Mary Hoggard and Giorgie Jones again kept a clean slate, dropping just 11 games in their 3 straight sets victories, while Edgbaston Archery's Holly Reid partnering first Elizabeth Massie from Rugby then Lucie Butler (Leamington) also won three out of three in forthright style. The Welsh side gleaned one rubber courtesy of Lois Porter's retirement through an injured ankle when partnering former British number 1 Louise Kilshaw at third pair and Kilshaw and captain Lianne Candappa were narrowly edged out by the Welsh first pair.

The victory after Day 1's fine win over Essex makes the chance of immediate promotion back up into Group 3 a very real possibility for the young side.

Warwickshire Men back in elite Group 1 in Eastbourne for the first time in 15 years, were agonisingly poised at 3 rubbers apiece against the highly-fancied East of Scotland after the second round of matches. The Bears' first pair Cameron Malik and Luca Pow had fought back from 2-5 down to beat their opposite numbers in straight sets.

In the final round, Malik and Pow thrashed the Scottish thirds but Stewart and Recci trailed by a set and 0-2 against the Scots' firsts before levelling at set-all. Then, trailing 5-7 in the Championship tiebreak, they reeled off the next 5 points to record an upset victory to deafening cheers from the vociferous Warwickshire supporters. Meanwhile the Warwicks thirds  Jake Hersey and Oliver Plaskett sensationally snatched the first set against the previously unbeaten Scottish second pair then after losing the second, kept their nerve to take the Championship tiebreak 11-9 with a thunderous ace from Hersey. They now face reigning champions Surrey but have already staked proved themselves serious contenders within this highly-competitive group.
