Become a Coach
Tennis or padel coaching is a fun, exciting and highly rewarding way for people of all ages and abilities to get more involved in the game – but where do you get started? We have a range of courses and qualifications available for anyone who is thinking of getting started in coaching, designed to help you work on your foundational skills and give you an insight into the role of a tennis or padel coach.
From these, you can go on to undertake further qualifications or training to specialise more in grassroots tennis, performance tennis or coaching a specific audience such as youth, adults or disability.
We have four different entry points into coaching - each targeted at different people:
LTA Youth Tennis Leaders (young people aged 11-18)
Pre-LTA Assistant (women)
LTA Assistant (Level 1)
LTA Padel Instructor

Coach Bursaries
We are committed to making tennis and padel coaching opportunities accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of background. As part of this, Warwickshire offers a bursary scheme to support individuals taking their first steps on the Coaching Qualifications Pathway.
A limited number of bursaries are available, offering up to 50% funding towards the cost of a Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 coaching qualification in tennis or padel.
To be eligible, applicants must have the support of a venue and a coach based at that venue. Please note that the venue must be registered with the LTA.
Applications must be submitted prior to completing the course. All applications will be reviewed upon receipt, and funding will be allocated and paid once the course has been successfully completed.
Bursary applications can be submitted via the following link:

Please note that bursary funding is limited each year. Once the allocated funds have been fully distributed, no further applications will be supported. If you are unsure whether you may be eligible for funding, we encourage you to get in touch to discuss your circumstances.
