This weekend, the Warwickshire Bears stepped onto one of the most iconic stages in tennis—competing at Wimbledon against the AELTC Men following their outstanding Summer County Cup performance.
Facing top-level opposition, the Bears embraced the occasion with confidence and composure, showcasing the quality and character that earned them this opportunity.
A late change saw Harry Lazell step in alongside Jake Hersey as the number one pair, taking on the toughest matches of the day and rising to the challenge with intensity and high-level tennis.
At number two, Oliver Plaskett and Richard Partridge once again proved their resilience—turning matches around from difficult positions with fearless, attacking play.
True to form, the Bears delivered drama when it mattered most. In a decisive Championship tie-break, they battled back from 7–2 down—driven by belief and team spirit—to produce a remarkable fightback.
To compete at Wimbledon is special. To do so as a team, representing Warwickshire, and to perform with such pride and determination makes it even more memorable.
A fantastic experience, and one the players—and supporters—will not forget.
