The Warwickshire Winter Finals took place last weekend at Billesley Indoor Tennis Centre, bringing together some of the county’s top teams for a fantastic day of competitive doubles tennis.

With strong performances across all three finals, players delivered an excellent standard of play in front of an appreciative crowd, with spectators enjoying not only the tennis but also the welcoming atmosphere throughout the day.


Ladies’ Doubles Final

Beechwood 7–1 Edgbaston Priory Club

Beechwood produced a dominant performance to secure the Ladies’ Doubles title with an impressive 7–1 victory over Edgbaston Priory.

The winning team of Saykin Su-Cowling, Claire Jones, Isla Turner and Ambreena Dhillon showed consistency and control throughout, proving too strong on the day.

Edgbaston Priory, represented by Jo Ishaq, Suew Kwan-Hodgson, Harriet Horwitch-Smith and Andrea Sapey, battled hard but were unable to halt Beechwood’s momentum.

Men’s Doubles Final

Nuneaton 6–2 Edgbaston Archery

Nuneaton claimed the Men’s Doubles crown with a strong 6–2 win over Edgbaston Archery.

The victorious team of Leyton Ainslie-Huffer, Chris Delaney, Joe Ridings and Elliot Griffin delivered a composed and confident performance, controlling key moments throughout the match.

Edgbaston Archery’s team of Nikita Shukan, Josh Vile, Sandaru Rajasinghe and Tom Barton showed flashes of quality but were ultimately outplayed by a well-drilled Nuneaton side.

Mixed Doubles Final

Edgbaston Archery 5–2 Streetly

Edgbaston Archery rounded off the day with success in the Mixed Doubles final, defeating Streetly 5–2.

The winning team of Tom Barton, Anya Cooner, Arvani Saini and Josh Vile combined well to secure a deserved victory.

Streetly, represented by Lillian Forouhandeh, Tony Smith, Paul Maguire and Marianna O’Farrell, competed strongly but had to settle for runners-up.

A Great Day of County Tennis

The event showcased the depth of talent across Warwickshire clubs, with high-quality matches played in a friendly and competitive spirit.

With refreshments available throughout and strong spectator support, the finals provided a fitting conclusion to the winter competition season.
