Mixed Doubles
Warwickshire began their campaign strongly, defeating Somerset with a clean sweep of four rubbers. They were edged out by the Channel Islands in a tense championship tiebreak and, despite a determined performance, lost to a powerful Gloucestershire side, who themselves were only narrowly beaten by eventual champions Surrey.
Women’s Doubles
The Warwickshire women faced Gloucestershire in their opening match, taking several games but unable to secure a rubber. The team responded well, defeating Berkshire in a set tiebreak and a closely contested championship tiebreak. Building on this momentum, they overcame Avon convincingly, winning all four rubbers and securing second place in their group.
Men’s Doubles
The men’s team opened against Somerset, with the tie culminating in a dramatic, extended championship tiebreak which narrowly went against Warwickshire. Their next fixture was against Scotland, who ultimately finished runners-up to Yorkshire, before Warwickshire secured a comprehensive four-rubber victory over Devon. Their final match, against the Channel Islands, was another closely fought contest, decided once again on a tiebreak. Warwickshire concluded the competition in fourth place in their group.
