The result may not have been what we wanted but we had some great tennis against South Wales over at the David Lloyd Centre in Swansea.

Many thanks to Liz Graham for stepping in as Sue is returning to fitness and then to Margaret who came in as Wendy was injured.

South Wales first couple of Val Alder and Mary Thomas were simply too good for all of us with Chris Clewer and Liz Graham losing 0-6,1-6 and Caroline Rhodes and Margaret Simcox going down 2-6, 0-6.

Both Warwickshire pairs had hard fought battles against second couple Gaynor Edmunds and Frieda Emery with some exhaustingly long rallies and many games with multiple deuces. We couldn’t quite get those vital points though. Chris and Liz lost 3-6, 1-6 and Caroline and Margaret 1-6, 2-6.

A 4-0 loss but I am very proud of our team who all played well. Having been accustomed to playing in the third division the step up to division 1 this year is a big one.
