Each month, we’re proud to celebrate the achievements of Warwickshire players across a range of competitions and events. If you’ve taken part in something and would like to be included, please email us at support@warwickshiretennis.com.
Here are some recent highlights:
County Cup Success
Our junior county teams enjoyed excellent results in the County Cup competitions:
The 14U Girls secured a fantastic 3rd-place finish.
The 14U Boys were crowned County Cup Champions, finishing 1st.
The 10U Boys delivered a strong performance to finish 2nd.
The 10U Girls claimed the County Cup title and have now qualified for the National Finals.
Developing the Next Generation
Our player development pathway continues to thrive, with our 2018 Performance Players attending an LTA Regional Day, gaining valuable experience alongside some of the region's most promising young players.
Warwickshire players also proudly represented their schools, with players from Blue Coat School and Warwick Prep competing in the 11U IPS Tennis Championships.
Meanwhile, Warwickshire was delighted to take part in a Girls' County Fun Day, bringing together 26 players from four counties for a day of tennis, learning and friendship.
Success on and off the Court
Congratulations to the Warwickshire Ladies O60s team, who finished runners-up in the Midlands Veterans League, showcasing the strength of tennis across all age groups in the county.
A special well done also goes to Nathan Rooney, who competed in the British Open Masters Clay Court Championships in Bournemouth, representing Warwickshire at a prestigious national event.
A Landmark Event for Warwickshire
This year also saw Warwickshire host its first-ever Learning Disability (LD) Tournament, with 38 players entering the competition. The event ran alongside the Lexus Birmingham Open, creating a fantastic opportunity to showcase inclusive tennis and celebrate participation across the county.
