Warwickshire Tennis is proud to announce that the county’s first Learning Disability & Autism Tennis Tournament will take place on Friday 30 May 2026 at Edgbaston Priory Club, alongside the Lexus Birmingham Open.

This landmark event marks an important step forward for inclusive tennis in Warwickshire, providing learning disability and autistic players with the opportunity to experience organised competition in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Hosting the tournament at the same venue as a professional event will give players a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere of a major tennis tournament while showcasing the continued growth of disability tennis across the county.

The event forms part of Warwickshire Tennis’ commitment to creating more opportunities for disabled players to take part in tennis. Working closely with the LTA’s Open Court programme, we are helping to develop inclusive opportunities for players with learning disabilities and autism, alongside wheelchair, visually impaired and deaf tennis.

Warwickshire is also the home county of 13-time Grand Slam wheelchair tennis champion Jordanne Whiley, who was born in Halesowen and retired from professional tennis in 2021. Her achievements continue to inspire players across the county, and we hope this new competition will help encourage the next generation of players to get involved in tennis.

You can also explore other disability tennis events across Great Britain via the LTA Disability Tennis Competition Calendar:https://www.lta.org.uk/compete/inclusion-disability/competition-calendar/

We look forward to welcoming players, coaches and families to Edgbaston Priory Club for what promises to be a fantastic day celebrating inclusive tennis in Warwickshire.
