Captains Report
What an incredible and memorable weekend at County Cup in Lymm…. fab club!
From thrilling matches to card games and laughter at dinner time….it was a fantastic experience for our players. The 14s girls team truly represented our county with determination, heart, and team spirit throughout.
The weekend was full of dramatic contests, close calls, and some seriously impressive tennis. The girls showed immense grit and character in a number of deciding CTBs and while we lost a few heartbreakers, every match was fiercely contested.
V Lincolnshire lost 5-1
We went 2 down early on, losing two CTBs—but the effort and spirit were undeniable.
Ambreena and Anya fought valiantly, narrowly losing in a 13–15 CTB. A huge shout-out to them for an incredible battle.
At 4 down, another CTB didn’t go our way, but there was no let-up in energy or enthusiasm. Anya and Nella pulled one back for the team to make it 5-1, showcasing skill and composure.
V Cheshire 3-3 won on shootout!
Despite beating Cheshire in the shootout, they advanced to the final due to the format—still, our pride in the girls never wavered!
Some brilliant singles & doubles performances
In a stunning turn, Mila and Nella won the decisive shootout, lifting spirits across the team. An incredible match which they held their nerve in.
Northamptonshire 5-1 win
The team surged ahead again—Mila and Nella gave us a 2–0 lead, Poppy followed with a win to make it 3–0, and Ambreena joined the charge.
Poppy’s match was particularly tight and her win showed real nerve—an inspiring performance.
Final result: We won the tie overall, finishing the weekend on a real high!
Off the court, the girls were a joy to be around. They showed respect, camaraderie, and a lot of laughter—especially over card games before lights out at 9pm & playing table tennis! Every player contributed to a fantastic team spirit that made the experience special for everyone involved.
Final Thoughts
While we may not have reached the play offs for 1st place to go to the
National Finals we won in so many other ways—with incredible teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. The girls gave their all and did us proud.
Go Bears!!
